Question:
Is this project alive or iit's dead?
Last version is 2024.10.5 and current is 2025.7.4 ...more then 9 month between releases

Hi, i've been maintaining a fork in track with current release, now 2025.8.0, but only the packages that I use and on top of this repository. Not in any manner same quality as the brilliant work maintained here but it's all functional in my setup. in case the maintainer decides to stop for any reason, i might evaluate to dedicate more time, but it's impossible for me now.
the for is https://github.com/tabascoz/HomeAssistantRepository/tree/master

Cheers,

I hope that @onkelbeh restart this project soon, with your help.
Meantime, how can I add your github fork to my gentoo's repositories list?

BEST:
could I use your repository with this one? Obviously in lower priority respect this one.

Yes happy to support, I started maintaining my repo just to get to the latest, but it's surely more productive.
@onkelbeth could take a look, there are a few new ebuilds given recent dependencies of HA.

I am working now on the repo and will see if syncing as external repo would work but i need to work still on some bits. Will test and let you know if is somehow functional.

yep i updated it a little, should be working. the package i have updated is homeassistant-full, and only to the useflags i use, listed below:

accuweather aemet androidtv androidtv_remote apple_tv backup bluetooth bthome caldav camera co2signal deluge dht ecowitt epson esphome ffmpeg forecast_solar fully_kiosk google google_assistant_sdk google_cloud google_generative_ai_conversation google_photos google_translate growatt_server home_connect html5 http ibeacon influxdb inkbird iperf3 ipma ipp lg_soundbar lg_thinq luci mariadb marytts matter meteoalarm meteoclimatic mobile_app mosquitto mqtt mysql network notify_events ollama onvif open_meteo openai_conversation openweathermap otp ping plex proxy push over pvoutput python_script recorder rest rtsp_to_webrtc samsungtv scrape sharkiq shelly smartthings speedtestdotnet spotify sql systemd tasmota tesla tesla_fleet teslemetry todoist tomorrowio tts tuya ubus upnp utility_meter version weatherkit xiaomi_aqara xiaomi_ble xiaomi_miio zeroconf zoneminder

to try it, you can use:
eselect repository add HA-tabascoz git https://github.com/tabascoz/HomeAssistantRepository.git

Please note its really not even in alpha, more of a dev dir. I'll work more on homeassistant-full and base ebuilds to submit a few PR here.

cheers

It could be really fantastic if @onkelbeth would merge your repository with his.... It would be a big step forward having another developer.... 2 is better then 1 :-)

In this moment I use homeassistant package (not "-full") with these flags:

app-misc/homeassistant-2024.11.3::HomeAssistantRepository
USE="apple_tv backup bluetooth caldav daikin esphome ffmpeg fritz fritzbox homekit homekit_controller matter met mobile_app mosquitto mqtt mysql nextcloud nmap_tracker notify_events nut otp ping plex python_script qnap recorder rest scrape shelly snmp sonos spotify sql ssl systemmonitor upnp usb version wake_on_lan webostv zeroconf zoneminder"
PYTHON_TARGETS="python3_12" 0 KiB
